Un-connected hose on underside of carburettor

Hi guys,

Just been out for an early-morning spin on the Marauder and when I got back I noticed a hose hanging down near where the air cleaner drain tube hangs. Tracing the hose upwards, it seems it's connected to the underside of the carburettor on the front left-hand side (ie the opposite side to the throttle stop screw).

Anyone know what this hose is and what it should be connected to? Weirdly, the end of the hose doesn't look worn as if it's ever been connected to anything, but I'm guessing it shouldn't just be hanging down as it is at present...

The bike seemed to be running fine while I was out, but I'm hesitant to get back in the saddle till I've solved this little conundrum...

I'm guessing it's a drain/breather for the float. Just there to keep dirt out. If it's working it's fine.

yes, sounds like that it is the hose for the float bowl "overflow hose"... nothing to worry about, this pipe is part of the carb, and is needed in case you want to drain the carb.
