One Minute Battery Charger Connection

Sick of taking off the side covers and seat to get to the battery? And keeping all the batteries charged on the fleet? Make a simple pair of leads to plug in the charger as quick as kicking down the side stand! Click on the link below. Any other suggestions or improvements welcome. By the way, what are people's experiences and best deals with solar powered battery charging panels?

Looks VERY much like the leads that come with the slime pump

I've done the same to make using the pump that much easier - leads tucked away just behind the panel to keep them out of the weather (ideally, should have an online fuse) - connect and you are ready to inflate/use as a 12V DC source if the alligator clips are connected

they are also the plugs that come with optimate chargers and some heated clothing.

i use the accessory socket on my bikes for charging, they work both ways

If your bike is kept in a heated garage and ridden couple times a week or so, then your batt will stay in pretty good shape. But a bike left out or not ridden, the batt will eventually go down, depending on it's age, condition and local temps.
clos-ish mate. been riding a couple of years & my bikes live outside. one goes to work every day unless there is snow on the ground. ok its a 1400 so big alternator to run the heated grips, but its never gone flat when left either - such as when its been in bits for a few weeks getting repaired.
the other one is an old T140, sits in the garden for weeks & starts no problem when i go to it. but then a kicker is cheating?

i know people who always suffer flat batts on bikes/cars. always seems to be poor maintaince causing a problem that makes it go flat. or they are just running too much power for the charging circut to replace.

yes i know batteries die in the end, i just never seem to have a problem with them dying untill they are properly dead. when i have a battery go its just shagged & never holds a charge again.
btw the T140 isnt quite stock, shes flat trakker style with a custom loom etc. there is a battery in there but smaller than stock as without they are pants at idle with lights. my 14 has a full history with it & no evidence of the battery ever being changed since 2001 when it was new.
maybe its because i tend to do longish trips all the time which keeps it well topped up. the shortest ride i do is the 11miles to work on fast mainroads.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
