Engine Rebuilders
Hi All,
I am looking to get a couple of engines rebuilt, one is off 1991 660 Tenere and the other is off a DR800. I dont have the time to do them myself and it makes me sad to look at the bikes sitting there ill every time i`m back in the UK. I can deliver and there is no mad rush for them back. Any body got any reconmendations as to who i can contact in the UK Thanks Paul |

It's not a specialist job.. It's a simple engine. Avoid the BIG dealerships as they will rob you blind. What kind of rebuilds do they need ?

Hi Ted,
The DR is just a refurb type rebuild, the bike is fully stripped so might as well get the engine sorted too. The XT is a different ball game, i think a bit of the carb (small screw that attaches the butterfy valve disc to the arm) found its way through the valves and got dragged down the side of the piston. so a rebore and oversized piston is just the begining. The engine has been stripped recently (about 3000miles) and there were no issues other than some piston slap. I'm back in the UK till mid july so I was wondering if anyone had someone they could reconmend. If not i'll start making some calls Cheers Paul |
