Bringing M8 bolts down to M6? - Page 2

It'd have to be flanged or washered up as there's a +8mm hole in the casing, I'd go with 8mm ally drilled and tapped to m6 securely in situ.

I see where you're coming from but I'd much rather a home solution, not just to save money but also for the learning experience. I'll be taking it nice and slow anyway and will have the help of a friend with a good head. I was going to go for the Loctite 3479 to hold it in place as I need some for some other bits on the bike, only thing is I can't get it locally yet I haven't found a place that ships it to Ireland, might be waiting a while but will post up the job when it's done.
