V-Strom 650/100

Does someone have experience with Suzuki V-Strom as an overlander-offroader?

I'd be interested to know how reliable machine it is. Certanly it performs better than any same class BMW and i've been told it's a lot more comfty too, but is it that reliable too (geting 100 000km on the clock with out any serious problems or brakedowns)?

So don't know witch to choose for two-up touring for long distances also on off-road conditions.

DR650 seems not to be a two-up bike, altough it's excellent for solo riding...

So only one from Suzukis seem to be V-Stroms 650cc and 1000cc models for such usage? But how reliable they are...?

I have bought a 1000 v-strom to do the rtw trip after considering nearly all other makes and models. considering that i am a kawasaki dealer this was not an easy choice!!! i hope it is up to the job, should be ok, the v-twin motor has been around a while now. kawasaki, by the way, are bringing thier own version out early in 2004
so maybe i may have to re-think!

Hopefully Kawasaki's effort will be more stylish than Suzuki's!

Will be interesting to see if it be a separate model or just a re-badged V-Strom, along the lines of the moto-x/enduro bikes that are coming out soon as a result of their "partnership" to reduce development costs?

I've recently bought a 1000cc Vstrom, after having a Varadero for a couple of years. I have to say I'm disapointerd in the Vstrom. It's not as comfortable as the Honda, and contrary to what the motorbike Magazines say, it doesn't handle nearly as good as the Honda.
