ts 185 new owner has questions
Just picked up a 1980 ts185 at a garage sale.have a couple of dumb questions. What weight oil should i use in the gearbox.I am assuming straight 30,thats whats called for in my yammy 360.Also,the injector tank was run low, have a couple of bubbles in the feed lines. Is there a bleed screw on the pump.Havent opened it up yet.I ordered a manual online but wont get it for a few more days. Thanks for your time.Scott K

Hi,
That's a great bike, treated right it's incredibly reliable. I raced one in 1972, never broke. Gearbox uses 20w-40. For the bubbles in the line, just start and run the bike, and pull on the oil pump cable so it runs through quickly. Should sort itself out just fine. Be sure to use good 2-stroke injector oil. When you get the manual, make sure the pump is set correctly. Have fun with it! ------------------ Grant Johnson Seek, and ye shall find. ------------------------ One world, Two wheels. www.HorizonsUnlimited.com
