Time to fix up the Wee......

Hi! Time has come to do some work on the wee ready for the trip which keeps floating around in the back of my head, and I'd like to pick peoples brains.....
(1) Does anyone know of an aftermarket exhaust for the '07 model that will save me weight over the original? Can find plenty for the '04 to '06 models, but mine has a sensor in the tubes plus a huge, heavy catholic converter.
Checked out lots of makes but havn't found one yet.
(2)I want to fit some more off road orientated footpegs and maybe a folding rear brake lever. I know Touratech make some items, but they're pricy and I've heard they're funny people to deal with. Are there stock items from other models that will fit straight onto the wee?
(3)Stock hand guards may have to go too. Anyone fitted proper off road bark buster type things to a wee, and if so, which brand/model etc.
(4)Also I might well end up with knobbly tyres such as TKC80's or something similar. Will I have any problems with the stock front mudguard?
Any help is appreciated!
Many thanks,
Tim xx

7/8" Renthals are good bars with risers attached and you can fit Acerbis Rallye type handguards which give very good weather protection .
Made a world of difference on my bike .

Mollydog has the lowdown on some cheaper and very effective handguards that work just as well [ I can't remember what they are called ] .

Make your own off road pegs out of some flat bar steel with "teeth " formed by judicious use of an angle grinder [ See a post by Martynbiker - now banned for being a naughty boy ] .

Avoid Touratwat equipment as you say rightly - MOST of it is overrated and certainly way too expensive .

You can make a folding gear lever by getting a steel one from a scrap yard and hammering the end flat and welding a hinge or other similar contrivance on the end and shaping it to fit .

Catholic converters are fraught with problems and best got rid off : the best way to do this is to burn them out the old fashioned way by building a large bonfire around a stake , tie the exhaust to the stake and light the fire .Stand well back and enjoy the spectacle with your chums amidst much jollity .
After the embers have cooled remove the exhaust from the ashes and refit , you will find that the catholic converter has been cleansed from the system and the exhaust will emit a truly righteous melody as you open the throttle .
Plus you will avoid the attention of these guys ;

Not in the UK I'm afraid ,but a lot of the stuff they sell comes from Europe and you might be able to source it on your side of the pond .
