Thumbs up DR800 Big Panniers

I own a 1998 DR800 big and would like to build my own soft pannier racks. Is there anybody out there that can assist with pics or advice regarding the putting together of these racks. I need something that is practical and easy to weld.
The mounting points is my biggest concern.

Can one buy these ready made?

Thanks

Ag, you make me home sick...

I don't really have a clue how to answer you - BUT cos you're from "the old country" I thought I'd do a bit of research for you

So here goes:

There's a guy in Gauteng, who's completely rebuilt a BIG and he made these panniers (personally they look a bit weird to me... but I've been living in Blightly for a long time... everything looks weird)

Here are some DRAWINGS of someone's racks they've made:

And here's picture of someone else's luggage racks:

Then - there's a commercial company who makes racks - dunno what year yours is - but here's a picture of what they have... and where they connect it:

ANYWAYS Tengai -- you don't need paniers for soft luggage??

LRegards

Update:

Here's the weird looking panniers assembled on the bike.

Pretty groovy actually!

There is at least 3 makes of pannier racks available for BIG.
1. Hepco & Becker - Stefan Hessler can supply them from his DR BIG shop
Hessler RT Online-Shop - Shop DR BIG 800
2. Five Stars (shown on drawings posted by XT Girl) - those are cheaper and can be found in Germany online or best on eBay.de
3. Givi - no more produced, look on eBay.

All of those racks meant to be used with Givi or H&B hard panniers, but I bought FiveStars second hand and rewelded them and slightly modified and never take them off bike - they serve as panniers racks and protection of rear of bike, saved my exhaust quite a few times.
Best "rear frames" I saw were by RickyCross - those would make perfect soft (or hard) panniers base thou they supposed to act as protection and that's what they made for. Check out catalogue here. Stefan Hessler as far as I know also can supply RickyCross stuff.

Hey, Thanks for the info. Really appreciate it. Now I have some idea what and where to fasten my pannier racks.

Cheers
