Suzuki TS 185 Pulsar coil problem

Hi Due to complete idiocy on my part I damaged one of the two pulsar (magneto) coils on my TS185. I managed to get a replacement, but after fitting it I can't get a spark at the plug. I don't know if I've damaged the CDI unit or incorrectly wired the two pulsar coils. I wonder if there is anyone here who can advise me on how to connect these two coils. Here is what I have and what I have done.
The two coils sit one on top of the other with the larger one below. The top coil (smaller) has two connections one at each end, the larger bottom one only one connection on the right hand side. I have connected the left connection on the top (smaller coil) to the solitary connection on the right hand side of the bottom (coil) and then connected this to the red and white wire on the CDI. The right hand connection on the top coil is connected to the red and black wire on the CDI (I can send photos if necessary). I think this is the way they were wired originally, but I'm not sure as the connections were covered in epoxy resin. Still no spark and I'm baffled! Sorry I'm not actually a World Motorcycle Traveller , but I am English and living in Mexico with a Motorcycle so I guess I sort of could qualify as a Motorcycle traveller if you can stretch your imagination a little. Thanks

Spend pix....

Hi there. Send the pix to the address in my profile and I will see what I can do. I can't get to my bikes now as I'm laid up with an injured foot, but I do have two of these and have had TS185s for years. I'll check the manuals I have to see if they have any pictures that might help.

Thanks, but I Managed to get it running by completely replacing the wiring from the magneto coils to the CDI. No idea
why it wasn't working yesterday though.

Good Onya

Well done. Never, in the 6-8 185s I have had has the electrics caused problems. Most of them were used as farm bikes so they got a real hammering.

It wasn't the bikes fault it was all mine. I damaged the coil when I removed the flywheel to alter the ignition timing.
Thanks

Two magnetos on Suzuki ts 185 er one connected

Hi. This thread is eaons old- but dont see where to start a new thread.
I am being asked how to wire lights and horn to a ts185. It sounds as if the two machines have been use as trials bikes but are in working order. One does run well, the other is a bit rough (old petrol varnish deposits) . I think that probably needs new carbs- the two youngsters want to clean them.
Both bikes have two magnetoes. one has 2 back wires and 1 red/white wire connected to the ignition switch. in both cases the 'unconnected ' magneto has 1 black; 1 yellow; 1 green; and 1 red.
With this information I have no idea how to advise the owners proceed to wire lights and a horn.:thumbup1::thumbup1::funmeteryes::eek:
Any ideas?

Hi there. Sorry,I didn't see your post as I've been away from home for a while. I suggest you come over to the specialist Suzuki TS forum, suzukits.informe.com
This is a common question there.
