Hi just wishing to know if anybody out there knows how far out the speedo is on this model.. I belive its more than the 10% allowed here in Australia the only positive is i wont get a speeding fine as it is under! The only problem im also getting ripped off Km travelled. If someone out there knows how to fix this problem please let me know SUZUKI says its allowable. Thanks

I don't really understand what you mean by getting ripped off on kms travelled , however you could beg,borrow or steal a bicycle computer or a GPS and check them against your speedo to find out the speed inaccuracy.

Or, get a mate in the police to check you with a speedgun --- now that is stretching things!!

I think the accuracy required in the UK is also +/-10%, which is not a lot of use when zero tolerance of speeding was the general idea a few years ago, courtesy of some bright spark with not much else to think of.

I don't understand being ripped off either, unless you are being prosecuted for speeding when you reckon you were not?! :rolleyes2:

ps the speedo is based on having the correct wheels and tyres fitted.

presume you are paying for each kilometer travelled?

In the uk and I presume elsewhere, the speedo's are allowed a +10% and -0% tolerence, ie allowed to read overspeed but not under. in practice most speedos read over by about 10%.

work out the revs/km in top, then use the rev counter for a while as a speedo whilst the speedo drive is disconnected. if it is all digital then you're up the creek.
