Lowered DRZ400 in UK

Hi

I am trying to choose a suitable bike for my New Zealand to UK trip next year, and a DRZ 400 fits the bill so far, and is on my quite possibly maybe list of potential bikes.

I've spoken to a few local Suzuki dealers and they've stopped selling the bike, so can't test ride it there. Is there anyone kind enough to let me have a quick ride to see if I like the bike? Or does anyone know any off road schools/hire places that have any??

I'm 5'5, my legs are not that short, but I reckon the standard set up would be far to high for me, but I've had a good snoop around the forum, and seen how others have lowered it.

Thanking you

Fern

We went looking for a lowerd DRZ type bike for our RTW trip, which we aim to start in 2013.

My wife is 5'3" with short legs. In the end we are looking to get 2 CCM SR40, They use the DRZ engine and are on 820cm seat height.

They also look goregous but cost £££ and don't come up second hand very often. Also CCM are currently working on a milatry contract son new ones from CCM won't ba available until april.

Also look at yamaha WR 250 similar power to DRZ but feul injected

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
