Hi guys, after four years of ownership i've sold my beloved Africa twin and done a deal on a DL1000 strom. Picking it up in next couple of days.
Please tell me i've done the right thing...................

v-strom is definetaly good bike. could be modern replacement for TA. the engine as bulletproof as AT, however, not that much off road oriented.

dont worry, you did a good replacement. wont be disappointed.

The main reason the Vstrom went unloved in England is due to looks, which the sport bike kids did not like. Performance wise it pips about everything else in the class and out lasts them all.

Anyone who has done big miles on one can tell you how reliable and comfortable they are as a travel bike, commuter, sports tourer or whatever.
Very little needed in the way of modifications.

I put over 70K on two different ones. Never a single problem with very rough going in Mexico, US, Canada. Only sold them to try a different bike.
(Triumph Tiger 1050 now)

Many have done RTW on the Vstrom, and many out there NOW traveling on them adding to their cred. Give yourself time to adjust to the new bike and trust it. It will not let you down.
