DR650RSE start probs
Help dr650 geniuses.
I am trying to get this 91 back on the road . However the beast wont start, It is turning over the starter motor but the engine is not turning, took crankcase cover off and all the gears including starter clutch set are turning but the rotor and engine isnt, maybe i'm missing something here and i'm new to this stuff but some advice would help thanks dc ![]()

That's a pretty comprehensive description of your problem. Seems the starter clutch is not engaging. If the bike has been sitting around for a while it's probably due to rust.
Unfortunately, you need a special rotor puller to remove the rotor. I suggest you see the nearest Suzuki dealer. |

Solved the problem!!
When I was changing the stator a couple of months ago , I wanted to remove the rotor but didn't have that specialist puller you need so took bike to dealer and left it there for them to remove and check bearing behind. Well yesterday I found that they had put stator ring on back to front (dorks), No way it would ever start! moral of the story don't trust a dealer to do a job you could do yourself.!!
