DR600 Dakar - Flywheel puller

Could anyone please tell me what puller I need to buy to remove the fly-wheel off a DR600 Dakar?

I keep getting freebies from well meaning workshops and friends - and nothing actually fits.

And my workshop manual very helpfully says: "Use a Suzuki flywheel puller"

OR -- if you can tell me how to MEASURE what I need... I can do that too!! (I.e. the OUTSIDE of the thread... or the bolt thingy... or the INSIDE... or... what??? :confused1:)

Maybe late and not exactly what you want, but when I replaced the crank on my DR350 I just carried the whole bottom end down to the local suzuki dealer's workshop and they popped the flywheel off for me for free.

Maybe you can measure the diameter and pitch of the threaded part of the rotor? as in the part that the puller will screw onto.

I had to make one for a DR650. Assuming your bike is the same (likely I'd guess) you need a tool that screws onto the external thread in the hub of the flywheel. This tool then needs an internal thread in it so, once attached to the flywheel you can screw a bolt through it and push the flywheel off the crank.

From memory, the flywheel thread was M50 x 1.5, but you can jsut measure the outside diameter, and find the pitch with either a special tool or a set of calipers and some care.

Good luck
Ben
