According to the Suzuki website they are sold in the US, although I don't remember ever seeing one. Here is the link.

IS that sold as a street legal unit in OZ? Its not here in the US. Probably some silly law keeping it from happening.

So that means its strictly off road. And the 250 cc air cooled trail bike market isn't too big and those who do buy, buy XR250's.

BUt, as a Dual SPort I think it would sell MUCH better.

HAve seen a few DR200's. Look like nice LAdies/smaller rider or park/play bikes. And maybe capabale of carrying a little gear with a light rider.

BUt haven't ridden either one. The DRZ250 looks nice. I figure its classic great Suzuki handling with a wimpy motor.

Thanks,
Todd BEllew

When I bought my bike I took a motorcycle basic rider course. Out of the whole class they had one dr- 200, and I got assigned to it. I was pleasntly surprised. It is under powered for my fat butt, but it did well in handling the obstical course etc. Mind you we got to 20 mph top speed. I don't think it would have enough power for a rider and gear on the freeway or even better two lane roads. For pure off road or around town it would be a blast.

hi all
thanks for the info, yes the DR-Z 250 is legal here and electric start with kick back up,the 03 model is a lot better suspended than the last few models,i think it now has the forks and shock from the RMX250 two stroke,so the handeling is pretty good, the power is what you would expect from a 250 four stroke...slow...but it will still cruise all day at 120kph,loaded up might be a different story though.
