DR 650SE: which spares for long trip?

Hi,

We are planning a trip all the way through Asia to Oz and NZ. What are the weak points on the SE, i.E. what is most likely to break that can't be fixed locally?

I'm not after general advice like levers, tubes, etc., rather more specific things like "alternator failures are common". (Example only, I'm not saying they are, it's what I need to know.)

Thanks for any advice.

Hey Peter,
I´m with a DR650 Dakar (SP41B) on tour. The bike has 60000km and I have no problems. Only I thing, the bike is a little to high. I´m 180cm and its hard to drive in bad terrain. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif
Best wishes
Oliver

Hi,

It's reassuring to hear that you've had almost no problems, although our SE model is very different from yours.

We are planning to leave here about May.

Happy travels!
