Dr 650 Petcock on IMS tank ?

Does anyone know if you can put the petcock from the Dr 650
on the IMS tank without any difficult mods.

And also there is a second black hose that attaches to the Stock petcock
should this go to the IMS gas cap if I have to use the IMS petcock.?

Thanks for any Help

Just use the Stock IMS Petcock

I can't recall for sure on this.
The stock IMS petcock is fine and does not leak and is easy to operate.

The one on the IMS is fine, i recently rode from Australia back to the UK on mine, no probs though it does tend to cut out when you only have about 3L left in the tank, usually when the bike is hot (which was most of the time:Beach:)

The stock tap is the vacuum type, so if using the IMS tank and tap, you just need to plug the vacuum hose from the carb.

If you want to put on the original tap, I think it might involve grinding off some of the engine fins, not really worth it IMHO.

Thanks for the input

I'm also looking into how I can install another petcock on the other side of the IMS tank so the fuel will travel across more easily has anyone done this.?
I know the the stock petcock location has bolt locations in place so I don't
know if it is possible if youy don't have this on the other side.

Thanks for any info

Not sure if it's worth it to install another petcock.

Good luck,

Patrick,
For clarification - carb inlet is to be moved to the 3 o'clock position or 9 o'clock position.

You can easily fit the stock DR650 fuel tap to an IMS tank. I needed to file out the hole in the tank slightly so the tap body could fit through, but the mounting holes were correct.

You need to take a little out of the corner of the top two cooling fins, but 10 minutes with a dremel or burr in a drill fixes that.

I used the stock tap because I like the vacuumness of it. Means I never forget to turn it off. Though reserve volume is a little less, I only got around 45km on reserve with an IMS 19litre tank and the DR tap.
