DL1000 front spring upgrade

Hello
I would like to share some experience concerning the front spring upgrade (or replacement) fro my DL1000 of 2003.
I have eplaced the original springs with Wilberth springs and 10W fork fluid from Wİlbers.

The replacement springs are progressive type. Since the original springs were getting shorter due to the use it was about the time. I ride the DL on and offroad. Although I am not that heavy and mostly travel solo the springs were in need to be replaced.

Results;
- In any case check your fork oil every other year (shorter if your ride a lot).
The original bike comes with 5W oil which is too soft for hot countries like Turkiye.
WHile teh service is changing your fork oil check the springs. They should be tight fitting in there.
- The Wİlbert spring is firm and has a good feedback. The 10W from Wİlbers has better response than the 5W originals. No nose diving at hard breaking.
- I am still playing with the precompression and fork fluid amount to have a better understanding what is going on in different settings.

The cost of the set of springs 100EU and the fluid is another 10EU or so.

Regards

Burak
