Thanks

Hendi

Hi Hendi,

It's a bit different for you since you are coming from the south, but there are a few posts on the west coast visas. I was there for a bit last year, feel free to pm me if you have any specific questions.

We rode down the west coast last year, starting in Morocco in mid-November and ending in South Africa in late-Feb. It seemed perfect for us regarding weather. We met our first rain in Namibia.

Some visa info (for Australians, but should hopefully be similar for you) here: West African embassies, borders and accomodation. - Google Maps

Regarding the weather, going south to north you'll have the rains one way or another: you have to cross DRC/Congo (south of the equator) before the rains start, in September or so. But then you're heading right into the rainy season in Cameroon/Nigeria/Mali etc.. which ends in October/November.

I've put together an animation on how this works over here:

Hi,

Have a look at our web site for route information for the west coast, north to south. We started in Morocco in Aug & entered Namibia late March. We avoided the rains in Gabon/DRC/Congo (just).

We loved every minute of the trip....

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
