Visa for Ivory-Coast

Hi folks,

somebody knows, if they deliver actually the visa for Côte d'Ivoire at the frontiers coming from Mali.

Greetings & Thanks
Ferdi

I think Priffe posted some information about this recently?

I've been following the Ivory Coast situation for a while now and still have found no evidence that a visa could be obtained on the border.

People have reported that the Visa D'Entente is still available from Ougadougou, Burkina Faso, which would be the cheapest way of getting a visa for Ivory Coast.

But will the authorities accept the Visa D'Entente at that border? I don't know the answer to that. I don't see why not, but some people in recent years have been refused entry to Ivory Coast with the Visa D'Entente. This was during Gbagbo's rule though.

Whatever happens I would sure appreciate you posting where you get the visa from and how much it costs.

Somebody will have to find out if and where they do accept the VDE. But only real trouble with it has been entering Niger afaik.
I think it can be had in Ouaga and Cotonou?
As for entering Cote d'Ivoire we came in from Burkina without visas and spent some time with the golddiggers, but then returned to Burkina (we never stamped out of BF). There was no border post and we didn't see any police or military in CDI.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
