visa/ethiopia comeing from the south ?
 

hello all!

travelling north, in the moment in malawi. with german passport.

how is the visa situation in nairobi in the moment! heared mixt reports that the ethiopian embassy only issues visa for kenya/tansania residents. any updates , any jungel junction residents with updates who are still in the process?

Visa for Ethiopia in Harare available
 

Hi Axel,

I called the Ethiopian embassy in Nairobi and they confirmed that they don't issue visa anymore to non-residents. However the Ethiopian embassy in Harare issues visa very easily. I got a visa with 6 month validity for 50 US$ in one day. No problem. The embassy is located at Lakarne road 14, Belgravia, Harare. It is not far from Small World Backpackers.

Just for the record, we (2 EU citizens) obtained 3-month multiple entry tourist visas from the Ethiopian Embassy in Harare today, at the rate of 30 USDpp, in a simple, same-day procedure.

Photocopied pages from our well-used carnet de passage were requested as supporting documentation to prove our "world traveller with their personal vehicle" claim.

Harare yes, but anywhere north... well, Happy DHL-ing. As simple as that.
