visa for angola in pointe noire, brazza??
hi all,
we're now in southern gabon, heading for congo in a couple of days. our problem is still the angolan visa... any ideas where it is the easiest to obtain? we'd like to ride to pointe noire first but have no clue if visas are issued there. many thanks darius

South of Gabon you can try Kinshasa and then Matadi. Some people have been successful in either city. Usually a few days of waiting around, multiple false timelines, false hope, despair and then eventual success that makes you feel like you won the lottery. The usual Africa visa process

Things are very bad. I have no idea what Pointe Noire is like but Brazzaville is impossible. Kinshasa is horrible (friends of mine have been stuck for 2 weeks) and Matadi is no better (another group has been stuck for 3 weeks there). It seems that it's getting more difficult by the day. They will make you jump through every hoop imaginable and then there's still no guarantee that you'll get a visa. People are contemplating taking the non-existent road to Lubumbashi instead of waiting around for months. Wish I had better news! Good Luck and enjoy Congo, it's great.
