Hi everyone

I know that people have recently travelled the west coast of africa but i am more interested in the actual route that they took and advice on visa requierments and where thay got theirs from.

Appreciate any info and would like to meet people who have done this trip in the the last 12-18 months at HU UK. I'll be on a yellow F650GS with touratech large tanks so come find me for a !

Thanks

Visa & route questions

Rode through the following countries in May/June 2006 (Swedish Passport):
Morocco, No visa or carnet required.
West Sahara, No visa or carnet required (WS is administred by Morocco).
Mauritania, Get visa in Rabat or Casablanca, Morocco. No Carnet required.
Senegal, No visa required. Carnet required (but you may get in without).
Mali, Get visa in Rabat or Nouakchott, Mauritania. No Carnet required.
Burkina Faso, Get visa in Bamako, Mali. No carnet required.
Togo, Get visa at border. No Carnet required.
Benin, Get visa at border. No carnet required
Nigeria, Get visa in Dakar, Senegal. Carnet facilitates vehicle entry but not
mandatory. I used carnet because I had one.
Cameroon, Get visa in Dakar, Senegal, or Calabar, Nigeria. I got mine in
Calabar. Carnet facilitates vehicle entry but not mandatory. I used
carnet because I had one.
Gabon, Get visa in Yaounde, Cameroon. Carnet facilitates vehicle entry but
not mandatory. I used carnet because I had one.
Gabon is where my Africa bike ride ended so I have no further info.
