Useful Services in Arusha, Tanzania

Hi guys,
We are currently overlanding between Zambia and Ethiopia and have made it to Arusha (just down from a successful summit of Kilimanjaro).

We have found two useful services that we couldn't find much information about on line:

1. Laundry / Clothes Washing
There is a laundry near the Shoprite in Arusha. It is semi-close to the Barclays in that complex and will do laundry in a day for about $2.50/kilo (4000TZS/kilo) which is much better than any of the hotels (you might be asked about $1 per piece of underwear). It is called 'Virgin Dry Cleaner / Laundry'. We had 10 kilos done in a day post-Kilimanjaro no worries. Could also be good after Serengeti.

2. Workshop and Mechanic
We had to get our car looked at and found that the Maserani Snake Park has a nice workshop which you can rent for $60/day. The guy who runs it is good value and helped up arrange a mechanic to look at the truck. It is in Tracks4Africa.

I am not associated with either of these places.

Cheers,
Mike
