Tires in Yaounde, Cameroon.
 

Hi,

I am in Yaounde, in my way to South Africa. Waiting for the Gabon visa.
I am not pretty sure if I will make it with my rear tyre so, anybody knows where can I find tyres. I am talking about a 17" for a GS 650 Dakar. In the case, could be great to find to the front one, it is a 21.

One thing you could try is looking for expats and rich locals who ride Enduros. Good spots are up-market restaurants and bars, especially on the weekends. Ask around, maybe somebody knows somebody.

Two of the guys we were riding with (elmacaro ond mprosser on here I think) looked for 17" tyres in Yaounde in Jan 2011. They had some very good contacts and were around to a handful of places but could find nothing particularly offroad.

From memory the most helpful place was near the centre of town, next to the Jester Hotel?? (very vague recollection).
