Sudan-Kenia border is open?

Hello!
I`m just planning my next trip in Africa for next year.
Does anyone know if you can pass with your motorcycle from Sudan to Kenia directly ?

Thanks.

What? And miss Ethiopia? Well, I wouldn't reccomend that. I think you can do it though. That is I heard the Sudanese allow it, I don't know about the Kenya side.

Hi Marcos (and how are you Pete!), I'd put the Kenya/Sudan border on your definite list of maybes. I hung out with an oil worker from Canada last month (in Addis) who is working in the region you mentioned, and the sudd as well. He said things are still unsettled despite the peace agreement recently signed. His team always has heavily armed protection. Alot can happen in a year of course. I've heard convoys are moving through this area, and also north from Uganda. I know of a German fellow on a bicycle who crossed from Udanda to Sudan but failed to make it to Khartoum under his own power. So as of 2 weeks ago the answer to your question would be yes. This fellow was stopped very often by the Sudanese military. Lets hope things go well over the next year, and good luck with your trip.

Hi Marcos, I was in Ethiopia 3 weeks ago or so. The Ethiopian/Eritrean border was definitely closed. If you were to go from Ethiopia to Djibouti, you could ride from there into Eritrea and on to Sudan, towards Port Sudan. Good luck, H.
