We found that it was going to be more expensive to ship to Namibia from Cameroon than all the way around to Mombassa so we have done the later, and will continue south from there. Sounds like Accra (Ghana) or Lome (Togo) are better options as far as heading to Namibia is concerned. There is a shipping company next to the German Embassy in Accra called Ewalds that seem quite reliable and reasonable (a friend shipped his bike to Hamburg for EUR 300.00) through them.

Hi,

Not sure if Ewalds ships to Namibia.
I shipped my bike back to Hamburg from Accra with Ewalds twice. It was very hassle free: go to the office (very well signposted, near the German embassy and in the same building as Lufthansa) and the shipping is arranged in half an hour. They can crate the bike for you and to make it as 'cheap'as possible I made the bike as small as possible myself. Taking out the front wheel, and the rearshock does the trick.
I'm not sure if Ewalds is the cheapest option, but it sure is one of the easiest.

Hi All,

Not sure how useful this will be to you, but I know of 2 companies who specialise in this kind of thing. My brother shipped his bike from Nigeria back to Germany a little while ago, using them. The one is in Cape Town and is called CD Shipping International an the other one is in Germany and is called DAL (Deutsche Afrika Linien). Both will give you a good and reliabl service, so maybe find out the numbers and give them a cal. I don't ave the numbers handy, sorry.
