Talking Shoprite GPS coords (supermarkets in Africa)

Hi folks

I just posted this elsewhere on the HUBB, then decided that Sub-Saharan Africa would be the better place for it... so here goes again. Please forgive me if you read this twice!

I saw an advert in a South African travel magazine which lists the GPS coordinates for Shoprite supermarkets in Africa, and thought it would be a good source of information for people on overland trips in Africa.

Having just completed the west coast leg of my African circumnavigation, I can't describe the excitement I felt when I came across a Shoprite in Ghana. (Ok, I admit, that's a bit sad, but after months of having access to only local markets and the odd vastly overpriced French supermarket, it was a momentous occasion to splurge on home delights in Accra!)

Anyway, even if you don't get as excited as I did when I found the Shoprite, I've put a scan of the GPS coordinates up on the HUBB. Rather than reattach, here's the link to the document in the other forum. You can print out and use as a reference if you so desire! (I've had to put it into a Word doc to bypass attachement size limitations)

Hope this helps someone out there eat good food!
Steve

Thanks for the co-ords, they may still come in very handy.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events (22 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
