Shipping from West Africa
 

Am riding to Timbuctu, in 7 weeks time. Then plan to ride to The Gambia, where I hope to ship the bike back to the UK. Can anyone suggest a shipping company? can ship back from Senegal if necessary.

When I was in The Gambia three years ago I used a company called Edgar Holdings Ltd. I got their name from the UK High Commision.
They're based in Banjul - 1st floor in the building opposite the post office.
I forget the owners name but they were really good. I was in no hurry to get the bike back to the UK so they put it in a secure storage building until they had a container going to the UK. They e mailed me with their UK bank details (I think it was around £300) and a couple of weeks later it turned up at Southampton with the correct paperwork!

I'm interested in your Timbuktoo trip as I'm doing much the same at Xmas. Can you post up some details - bike, prep route etc or pm me if you prefer.
