Omo Valley-Lake Turkana route southbound - looking for buddies for a convoy
 

Hello all,

Brett and I are keen to do the Omo Valley / Lake Turkana route from Ethiopia into Kenya at the end of May / start of June, provided the roads are ok. It looks like a really fantastic route, and we’d do anything to avoid the road from hell from Marsibit to Nairobi!!



We really only want to do the Lake Turkana route in convoy with another vehicle, so thought I’d put a post up here to see if there is anyone else who is heading south and would like to join forces? We'll hang out at Wim's in Ethiopia to try and find some likely candidates as well, but its always good to know in advance if anyone is keen.


We are currently in Egypt and hope to take the ferry into Sudan on the 25th April.

Out of interest, has anyone done the Lake Turkana route recently?Any news on road conditions / security?
