Not camping in southern africa a problem?

I'm planning a trip in Southern Africa:
Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia

I dont want to go camping. I want to travel light and taking my camping gear on my flight to Africa isnt practicle.
Also I dont want to buy all the equipment in SA which will be useless after the trip.

Lots of travellers seem to be into camping. But is it as easy to find a B&B/lodge/hotel around these countries?

Yes, unless a lot have burnt down in the last 5 years (like the one on the Botswana/Limpopo border crossing resulting in a 100km dash through gathering gloom) only snag is you have to sometimes modify your day to suit. Ride safe.

Just depends on where you want to go and do. These sites may give you a some help.

The thing is, the option to see most game parks is associated often with upmarket lodges/camps or camping. Not much inbetween. Even then, it is getting quite expensive. And then you need to get there.

There are plenty of options along the way (many expensive lodges as mentioned above, but also plenty of modestly priced hostels)... I've used Lonely Planet type books which usually provide a number of choices.

Expect Botswana to be expensive. Also, it's always worth phoning ahead to small camps. All it takes is one large party of overlanders to turn up and the place is full.
