Northern Mozambique

At the moment we are in Malawi and will in a few days head on for Mozambique. Does anyone know of RECENT weather info in regards to road conditions. The area we are looking at is just south of the Tanzania border from Mandimba to Pemba. Any ideas?

link below to a report of flooding at Beira, looks pretty bad, could be quite regionalised. Some of the problems that caused it seem to be man made compounding the large intake of water. However northern mozambique is supposed to be hard to travel around due to poor road conditions so flooding may be significant.

Report from the 3rd April 2003.

Hey folks,

Anyone know if North Mozambique is possible with a 4x4 truck in december, considering the rains? I will come from Tanzania by ferry.

cheers, Peter
