anyone knows the latest safety situation of calabar?and maybe place to stay?

i was in calabar a week ago and it is fine. most of security issues are the far north. there was a massive fuel shortage so that means long lines at the few fuel station that actually have any. i stayed at the jahas guest house. pretty cheap at 2500 niara, but a dutch couple i know camped at a hotel around the corner, but i cant remember the name. if you go to jahas the follow the main road its about 100m up the road, away from the centre. look for a big gate with a guard. also note that the cameroon embassy has recently moved to a different location. but you can take a taxi, dont pay more then 500. even that is a bit too much
