Smile Mauretania visa in Dakar? Mali and B.F. VOA?

Hello!

Has anyone tried recently getting the visa for Mauritania in Dakar or Banjul?

Is it still possible to get Mali and Burkina Faso visa at the border?

Cheers!

Great! Let hope they still issuing visas. I'm trying to get in touch with them but the telephone line seems too bad. I will try again.

Hi there

In April this year, we left Banjul and got a Mauritanian visa in Dakar. Applied one day, spent the night at Lac Rose and picked it up the next day.

Cheers

Great to hear! Did you try to get in Banjul?

It would be best for us to get it there as we're heading east and I hate the corrupt drugpolice at the ferry and the border going north to Dakar.

Not sure about Gambia, but Mauritania visa is available in Dakar at the embassy for 40,000 CFA. Mali visa was easily available at the border 'for 15,000 CFA right before the coup but I'm not sure with the current situation.

For Burkina, make sure to get the visa before you get to the border! Getting the visa at one of the surrounding embassies should be ~45,000 CFA but it will be more than double that if you purchase it on the border following an updated 2010 law.

Thanks Kellen!

That's good to hear that it seems possible in Dakar, it'll be our plan B. But we'll try in Banjul first. Still hoping for a positive reply from someone who's got it in Banjul.

Yes, I remember from last time that the Burkina visa was very expensive at the border. But still convenient.

Hi

We had been in Banjul since the previous week and I'm sure we didn't get the visa in Banjul because we couldn't. 3 of our party already had visas but one (late addition) didn't. It would have suited us better to get it in Banjul too.

Co-ords for Mauri visa in Dakar, if you need them: N 14.69100 W017.44642

Recent reports elsewhere said the Burkina visa had gone back down in price in recent months, and that it was now 24,000 CFA at the border for all nationalities EXCEPT Americans.

Also, there is a consulate in UK for Burkina, they reduced the price for the Burkina visa also in the past few months, by 50%.

Has anybody got the visa at the border recently and can confirm the current price?
