Mali to Gabon?

Hi. I have an old bike kept ad Djoliba hotel, Segou, Mali. I think is time to pick her up and giving some bad life again. I recentely received a email from a close friend telling me he is working at the Spanish Embassy in Gabon. So that is the plan: going from Mali to Gabon and have some s with my mate.

As I have no experience a the West Coast further Dakar, Kayes, Bamako and Segou, I ask the experts about the best route and the best season to go from Mali to Gabon. Please, help me to reach Libreville and have some drinks paid by the Spanish Ministry of Foreigns Affairs.

Nice plan. Unfortunatly traveling 250km from Nigeria into Kamerun was the hardest part i ever have been riding, because i hit the rain seson on the muddy roads in September. All the rest was more or less fine. Burkina Faso and Gaboun are just beautifull. Please give Greatings to the Village S00°26'58,0 " E010°17'59,6 " and GPS N10°58'36.9 " W004°52'15.1 " (they love pictures of them selves: 33 till 38 and 60 till 63) and take a look at my translated travelreport @

Riding the rough west coast through Africa

cheers, Tobi

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
