Mali - Cote d'Ivoir bordercrossing
 

hi,
does anyone has information about the bordercrossing Mali - Cote d'Ivoir? is the route to the bordercrossing in Mali (from bamako/Bougouni) and from the bordercrossing in Cote d'Ivoir (towards Odienne) entirely asphalted? I am driving a normal peugeot passenger car. is there any safety issue that is of high importance?

How far south are you going and when are you likely to go?

Only asking as my friend has just spent a night in jail in Bouake ... held by the rebel troops. Travelling from northern CI to the south (ie. Abidjan) isn't easy!

Keep a close eye on the political situation there!
