Last I heard it's happy season on 2nd hand 4x4's following the interest rates being increased to force the high rollers to stop living on debt. Having a look at Auto Trader SA and see how many Toyota Hilux's are for sale

Exclamation Ssang Yong, 2,9 Turbo Diesel 4x4

Hi Tamburger,

my Ssang Yong is still for sale but its more than 40000, I need 50000 Rand for the car. Or 5000 Euro would be also okay.

The car is in Pretoria, has roadworthy and is ready to register.

the mileage is 168000 km the car has servicehistory. I just did a 4000 km Trip inside South Africa without any problems. I did fill up 0,5 ltr. oil after 5000 km since the last service. The 4x4 is optical and mechanical in top condition.

regards

This might be bit far out of your way, but there is a Nissan Patrol 4x4 for sale in Nairobi. I met the guy a week ago and he is desperate to sell it as he had to finish his trip early and now have to pay storage fees for it!

I'm not a car expert, but it looks in quite good condition. He's asking 3500 euros for it, but I think you can easily negotiate the price down quite a bit!

It is registered in South Africa, and some people say you can drive from Nairobi to SA in 5 days, so it might be an option!

Contact Chris at Jungle Junction if you are interested, his contact details are on this site.

Regards,

Namsa

Oil checked

Hi Tamburger,

from the last service I took a sample from the engine oil and did get it analized in Germany. It shows that the engine of the Ssang Yong is in perfekt condition.

I can email a scan from the report.

Regards

Got an old Landi in CT, an FC in Dar and Kees' Patrol in Nairobi. I have a guy who wants to rent Kees' patrol and then drive south where it can be sold and papers etc exchanged.
