Lift wanted through Kgalagadi park S>N jan 2012

Hi guys, I know this is a long shot but here goes......

I'm currently cycling through SA on my way up, I'd quite like to go through the Kgalagadi park from SA heading North but for obvious reasons they dont allow cyclists through.

If anyone is heading that way the last couple of days of Jan 2012 and have room to give me and my bicycle a lift please get in touch.
In return you get my stunning company for a couple of days and a contribution to the fuel costs.

I'm leaving Kimberley the 13th heading northeast on dirt roads(later the R31) and expect to be at Witdraai around the 25th (+/- a couple of days). But need to leave SA b the 30th(visa).

I wont have internet the coming weeks but do have twitter/facebook on my phone where you can contact me.

Thanks

Shane

This site might also be a good place to ask: Wild Dog Adventure Riding - Index

Are there any South African 4x4 forums?

Good luck,
Chris

Hi Shane,

We are just back from Africa after 3 years on the road and I have been reliving memories via your site. So thank you!

KTP is probably my favorite park in Africa (and we went to a lot) and I hope you get there.

I suggest you post your request on

SA 4x4 Community Forum - Powered by vBulletin

Probably best to post in the Pub or the Northern Cape section of the Regional Forums. They are a really helpful bunch and I'm sure you'll get a response. It is also a great resource for any travel in RSA/Bots/Nam.

You posted your original question on this m/c forum. Local m/c riders are very likely to also have a 4 wheel vehicle, or a friend with a 4 wheel vehicle. I won't be making any more suggestions. Sorry for troubling you. Good luck.

Sorry chris you are of course right, I forget this is a m/c forum because most questions of what I read here overland/travel related.

Off to get my butt kicked by a very summery Kalahari tomorrow.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
