Liberia-Ivory Coast border open ?

Hi all,
Does anyone know if the Liberia-Ivory coast border up in the north (Sanniquellie to Man) is open ? Lots of rumors about it being closed...
What about the one in Forest Guinea (Lola to Man )?
Thanks for any reliable information,
Y.

Liberia to Guinea (Lola) to Cote d'Ivoire (Danane) route : i read of this road used a few months ago by a fellow named Brendan

Liberia (Sanniquellie) direct to CI ?? on google maps, i see a road that goes from Sanniquellie->Zalimobuku->Kande->to the border, but on the CI side there is no road shown.
From the Lib-CI border it looks like 17-18km to Danane.
On the terrain map, it's light green, seems to be flat, and not dense forest -- certainly looks like a road could actually be there OR am i missing something ??

Guinea

Don't know about Liberia, but the border with Guinea is definely open. Man - Nzérékoré is VERY nice - very remote, almost no traffic, small border post in the middle of the forest. I should say that the last few Kms to the border would probably be pretty tricky in the wet.

Thanks mate. The info we are getting here in Monrovia is conflicting, the Ivorian consul told us it is closed, some NGO folks told us it is open. To be on the safe side we just picked up a new Guinean visa here so we'll ride back into Forest Guinea over to Lola and hopefully on to Man.

I was through about 4-5 months ago and it was closed. Ask at the Ivorian Embassy in Monrovia, they'll know for sure. The Harper border was open because of the rural nature and need for them to get to a city (Abidan) from what I was told.
I ended up going back into Guinea from Monrovia to N'Zerekore and then to Man from there. It took 2 days, but that was the heart of the rainy season.

"North" border of Liberia& CI is officially "closed", but met people (Liberian, Nigerian, north americans) who crossed this border - no exit stamps for the non-Liberians and the CI side did not care about those Liberian exit stamps

ie, Sanniquellie -> { Liberia/CI border... i.Customs, ii. police checkpoint iii.Liberia border iv. CI border } -> Saleu -> Bnzereu -> Danane

i did not travel this route myself, and do believe the info told me to be true as met 3 sets of people at different times (although on the same bus)

bribes were demanded and paid at points i. ii. iii. iv.
i don't agree or pay bribes knowlingly (i think the bus transport co's pay bribes and collect this mobey from passengers in the form of baggage fees/border fees...look a company STC what a rip-off Abidjan to Accra bus ticket CFA 14,000 + CFA 6,000 border fee + baggage fees)

OK, answer to my own question is YES, the border between Sanniquellie and Danané is open. I enquired with the UN folks in Ganta, Liberia, and they told me it now was. Note that the Ivorian consul in Monrovia told us that it was closed... We ended up crossing into Guinea anyways, the piste through the rainforest between Diéké and N'Zérékoré is amazing, as is the piste between Lola and Danané. The rainy season has already started there and it was wet and muddy but scenic.
