A couple of days behind...
 

There's a group of us considering the same route (2 landcruisers, a land rover and a couple of bikes), but probably not leaving Addis until around the 4th.

We're currently in Lalibella, heading to Wim's in Addis tomorrow.

We traveled north via Turkana last year and had no regrets. If anyone would like some GPS tracks (not ours but those of some friends who went that way a few weeks before us) pm me with an email address. You'll need Mapsource to open them. T4A was not faultless here and we found them very useful. They'll take you to Maralal via Sibiloy, Loyangilani and South Horr.

Take care though. As you'll have heard there has been trouble in the area in recent weeks (massacre of 40+ police and reserves at Baragoi at the end of November).

I recommend you take your time in South Omo. We spent 10 days there and it was a real highlight. You can pick up guides along the way and the Bradt guide is great re info on market days etc.
