For Burundi you may want to have a look at:

For the countries you are looking at, see the "For Overlanders" section on our site below for some basic info from 2011.

Happy travels

If you're passing through Kampala I can defintely recommend this place :

Welcome to the Red Chilli Hideaway website Uganda's No 1 Backpackers' Hostel and Campsite

Good budget accommodation with secure parking. Plus Kampala is a good place to look if you need tyres, parts etc.

This looks good for my trip south.

Richard
where are you so far ? and when you will be in Egypt ?

Richard-NL 10 Nov 2012 16:12

Hey Omar,

The plans stands still on the 14th, I will heading to Alex as soon as I have entered Egypt. It should take me two days to arrive in ALex. If you pm me your phone number I will give you a call asap. I will try to get my Sudan visa in Cairo since I have read you message about the ferry in Aswan. I want to leave on the 29th or 30th of november right. That will give me enough time to arrange my visa for Sudan and to have a look at your tracks4africa maps. I already have the visa for thiopia :D

Cheers Richard

Omar
I leave South Africa about the time you leave Egypt and plan on traveling the same countries. What say we meet in the middle and exchange notes on where to stay and what to see.
