For Burundi you may want to have a look at:

For the countries you are looking at, see the "For Overlanders" section on our site below for some basic info from 2011.

Happy travels

If you're passing through Kampala I can defintely recommend this place :

Welcome to the Red Chilli Hideaway website Uganda's No 1 Backpackers' Hostel and Campsite

Good budget accommodation with secure parking. Plus Kampala is a good place to look if you need tyres, parts etc.

Hey Omar,

The plans stands still on the 14th, I will heading to Alex as soon as I have entered Egypt. It should take me two days to arrive in ALex. If you pm me your phone number I will give you a call asap. I will try to get my Sudan visa in Cairo since I have read you message about the ferry in Aswan. I want to leave on the 29th or 30th of november right. That will give me enough time to arrange my visa for Sudan and to have a look at your tracks4africa maps. I already have the visa for thiopia

Cheers Richard

Thumbs up

Omar
I leave South Africa about the time you leave Egypt and plan on traveling the same countries. What say we meet in the middle and exchange notes on where to stay and what to see.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
