Kenya carnet required or tip?
 

Hi does anyone know if I can enter Kenya paying temporary important tax or is a carnet essential. I have a carnet but Kenya is excluded on it (the higher 200% rate is req.)

Yes you need a carnet. I am told there are no exceptions. Others may testify differently, but fairly certain you will need a carnet...

I second Darrin - Carnet essential for foriegn vehicles (EAC are exempt though). However they may offer you an easy "pay as you go" option at the border....don't take it unless you're willing to pay off every policeman in kenya and then you still risk loosing your vehicle.

People have slipped in behind Kili but then they tend to get stuck in Nairobi.
