Mutiny in Gao today also...doesn't look good for president ATT with only two months left at the helm.
But these are angry soldiers mutineering after tireing of being sent to the front with qurans and not enough ammo, blown to pieces by much better armed/trained/motivated tuaregs with libyan cannons. It is not a coup d'etat, despite the headlines. Official: Coup d'etat underway in Mali - CBS News Probably first time ever a president is communicating through twitter during a revolt https://twitter.com/#!/PresidenceMali There's even more talk of the possibility of secession of the north now. http://globalvoicesonline.org/2012/0...lections-loom/ edit: well forget that; thugs overtook the palace and country now headed by Cpt Sanoko. Curfew in effect until further notice. Last edited by priffe; 22 Mar 2012 at 08:11. |
