Hi, its probably been asked before, but does anyone have waypoints for the West Coast, Angola through DRC and EG to Niger Chad and Algeria, campsites, missions etc?
If anyones interested I'll be blogging onto my website Trans Africa 07 Details of my HPN are on the site too. Any advice gratefully received! Thanks in advance. Phil |

Hi Phil!
We saw your HPN 4 month ago in Altus workshop at the time he was still working on it. Now its a really great Bike!! We stay in the workshop to repair and clean our bikes after trans africa from Maroc to Capetown . Altus is a really BMW guru.....we enjoy our time in the workshop very much. When you want to start? In Angola you can ask in every small village for a place to stay. (once we sleep at the policestation sometimes in kath. missions) If you travel over Cabinda you can go to the kath. mission Very nice! In Point Noire everything is quiet expensive. In the small Congo and Gabon(very good kath mission in Lambarene/Gabon greetings to the argentinien Sister!!) we ask always at the missions we loved it! We find allways a place to stay and very nice people. Greetings from Down under and good luck Werner+Claudia |

Hi you two,
Thanks for this, Altus mentioned you recently. he is a font of all knowledge GS wise! The bike now looks fantastic, there are just a couple of odds and ends to complete. I'm off to South Africa next Saturday to give the bike a work out on the Great African GS Challenge, then back down in December to journey up the West. Regards to you both! Phil |
