Ethiopia-Eritrea-Sudan route
Hi, I'm still planning a RTW route and I need to know if is possible to do a Ethiopia-Eritrea-Sudan Route. I checked the smelly biker wonderlust map and garmin worldmap and appears a road between Tesseney (Eritrea) and Kassala (Sudan). Can I pass there? or the only way is from Ethiopia go direct to Sudan from Azezo to Al Qadarif?
the main idea is go from south to north from SouthAfrica to Egypt, visiting those 3 countries. thanks!

Is the Ethiopia-Eritrea border open? It's been a while since it was, but I crossed that way in the mid-nineties, right after the end of the civil war. Lots of mines, lots of armaments, lots of official ineptitude (check your documents carefully).

When a friend did that loop back in 2002, he went in via Sudan and came back out via Djibouti into Ethiopia.
