Eastern Africa Single Visa - All in one

We are now in Swaziland and we are heading North East up to Egypt so as to make it to Greece.

Last year, there were official statements about an All-In-One visa for Eastern Africa countries in order to empower tourism potential and save the poor overlanders from visiting all the embassies or trying their luck at the borders.

Does anybody have any idea about this super visa??
Did anybody try his/her luck in any embassy from South to North East Africa??

We will try in any case in Pretoria in Tanzanian or Kenyan embassies but we would appreciate any relevant information.

Best Regards.
Nikos

Talked about for quite a few years I believe.
Requires organisation from 5 African governments who will all lose some visa money(?) for the long sighted aim that it will encourage more people to visit their country that otherwise might be put off because of the extra visa costs, and that will help the local economies.
Not sure if its a good idea, but even I can see that politicians will lose the ability to 'control' the visa money directly so some might be resisting who currently enjoy the benefits of that 'control'.

The proposal to introduce the single tourist visa in the partner states of the East African Community (EAC) has been held back by poor Information Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure.

Good news, it seems it'll soon become reality, although Tanzania and Burundi have bailed out :

allAfrica.com: East Africa: Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda Unveil Joint Tourist Visa in UK (Page 1 of 2)

Now it might just end up like the infamous West African Visa d'Entente Touristique.. let's hope not.

Who will be the first to report on getting this visa ?
