You can try Lac Rose which is about 30km outside Dakar, it used to be the final finish line for the Dakar rally. There are several hotels/auberges around the lake that allow camping in their carparks. Failing that you can wild camp in the dunes nearby. The place is a bit of a weekend retreat for expats and Senegalese to escape the capital. Its pretty but not the most exciting place!

Sunugal Restaurant- Camp

Hi all.

You can try camp in SuNuGal Restaurant.

It is a restaurant close to the International Airport of Dakar that has a private beach and let overlanders camp in their parking area (there is a guard during the night)

They also let you use their public WC and showers.

It costs around 4000 CFA pp.

There is also a hotel in this name. You can try if you like.

City is not that close but you can visit the embassies by your bike instead of getting a taxi. Actually taxi is quite cheap but try to bargain.

As you already mentioned, it is in Dakar that you can get easily your visa for Ghana. The consulate was quite polite and open to dicussion with us.

The Ghanaian Embassy is very close to SuNuGal Restaraunt.. about 5 minutes by bike. You can even walk there. It's a short distance.

In general, African embassies in Dakar are widespread in the city. That would be more wise to use your bike instead of taxi.

Good Luck!

What is address for Ghana embassy in Dakar?

I've located it in Point E area, rue 6 ...... and this location is nowhere near 5 minutes from this SuNuGu restaurant or the airport
