Can someone just confirm these visas can be obtained on the road ??? Egypt - SA

Hey...

I would love if someone who has ridden the East coast route could just confirm my visa plans.. British Passport

Egypt - Get it on arrival (Venice - Alexandra ferry)

Sudan - Obtained in Cairo (after you have the ethiopian one)

Ethiopia - Obtained in Cairo

Kenya - At the border

Tanzania - At the border

Malawi - At the border

Mozambique - At the border

Zambia - At the border

Botswana - At the border

Namibia - At the border

South Africa - At the border

Also, is it worth paying for an Arabic translation in my passport ??

Anyone know how long you get on these visas too ???

Thanks so much in advance..

I put the Easton Europe trip on hold so I could do Africa this winter. It's on the cards for the next couple of years though. As is South America again, Australia, South east asia and scandinavia..

All I need is that lottery win now :innocent:

Well I am traveling north from CapeTown and currently in Nairobi, so I don't know for sure about Egypt, but I have read it is no problem for UK citizens. Traveling south to north, you are correct regarding the countries and visas at borders. However, one has to obtain an Ethiopian visa from Harare, as Nairobi is no longer issuing. I am getting my Sudanese visa from Nairobi, and my Egyptian one from Addis, once confirmed it is possible. Sometimes it's better to get your visa from the neighbouring country, as you don't have to pay in US funds, local currency, and not have to wait in line at the border, changing money etc .

Hi,

I got the visa the way you wrote it no problem. The sudan one in cairo took one day and the ethiopien one about 4 hours. The visum for syria i got in germany.
