Camping / Places to Stay in Juba / South Sudan

We'll be in Juba by the end of the week and I wanted to know from this group, any tips about what to do? where to go? Any suggestions about where to stay either in the city or outside the city?

Thanks

Hi mate. Plenty of places to stay in Juba, although greatly over priced due to all the agencies and UN.

I live and work in Juba so give me a call on +249 912 147 965 when you get close. Which border are you crossing or are you coming down from the north?

My office is located at N04' 50' 24.41" E031' 36' 25.26" in a place called Garage road in Hai Malakal.

Might be able to help you out with a secure camping site at our new guesthouse. Mechanical help here too if you get here in the next few days.

CJ.

BTW, there is a fuel crisis in Juba/South Sudan at the moment. We are paying $1.90L for diesel and more for petrol, however our regular supplier has run out. Supplies are uncertain but may be relieved at the end of the week. Perhaps.

Sorry mate. Invitaion has expired due to me no longer being in Sudan.
There are loads of places in Juba, however the trick will be to find one that fits your budget. Try to arrive early and spend a bit of time to check whatever comes your way. Not much to recommend in Juba, if you're not working there.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
